BAND DAY IS SET!!!  Mark your calendars LHAB for September 19, 2015, UT vs. Cal!!  Thanks to the help of the LHB Directors, Professor Jerry Junkin and of course Athletics, we found out the scheduled date today!

London Supplement Travel Insurance

Dear London Travelers,

London Travel insurance policy has been posted.  We strongly advise everyone to read the full terms and conditions of the insurance policy, as this is a contract between you and the insurer.  We want everyone to take the time to be well-informed regarding their rights and responsibilities. The policy applies to option 1 and 2ers.

If you are 71 years old or older, and wish to be insured, please pay the $30 supplement fee online here. (Page 2 of the policy.)

In the comments section add: supplement insurance for {state your name(s)}.

Payment is due by Wed, Nov. 26th at noon as your names have to be submitted to London. If you already paid, please email us so we can double check your final invoice.

2014/2015 Basketball Games

Alumni!!

We are starting to put together bands for the 2014/2015 Basketball Games that occur during the Holiday season.  

Alumni are invited to make themselves available for ALL games, but the MBB vs Texas State game on December 13 is our very first ALUMNI Basketball Game!  If you are ONLY available for that game, please still fill out the survey.  Mark that you are an alum, so I can give you preference for that game.

1.  Students that play these games are compensated $35 for each game played payed in cash at the event.  Games typically last about two hours from the tip.

2.  Performers are asked to be in the band seats with uniform and all equipment at the Erwin Center 45 minutes before the tip-off of each game.  This means that players should arrive one hour before tip off to change and get their music book and stand (located at Erwin Center).

3.  Uniform: JEANS, White Tshirt (Pullover Top provided at Erwin Center) - Change into uniform in Band Locker Room.  Please wear a WHITE SHIRT under your basketball top. After the game, you can put your uniform away in the locker room and directly depart.  

4.  Parking passes are single-use and disposable.  Players will pick up parking passes for any/all games they are playing from the Band Office Staff during regular business hours (M-F; 8am-5pm). 5.  Players should enter the Erwin Center through the Red River doors and identify themselves as band members.

6.  Once rosters are set, players are expected to find a substitute on the same instrument in the event of a conflict.

7.  There is a rehearsal in the Band Hall on Tuesday, December 9.  You are REQUIRED attend this ONLY rehearsal if you are playing ANY games.

8.  The MBB vs Texas State game on Saturday, December 13 is the OFFICIAL Alumni game.  Alumni will be given first preference on this game only and there is a special rehearsal for that game on Saturday, December 13 from 12PM to 1:30PM in the Band Hall.  If you are ONLY playing this one game, you don't need to attend the rehearsal on December 9, but need to attend THIS rehearsal.

9.  Alumni are invited to ALL the games.  Current students get first preference, but we almost always have a few slots for our dedicated alumni to fill throughout the holidays.  We GREATLY appreciate your help over the holidays!

Hat Covers

Dear London Participants,

You are strongly encouraged to try on your Stetson and hat cover. It has come to my attention that Allen's Boots ran out of the appropriate hat cover sizes and substituted the remaining ~ 90+ Stetsons with whatever they had in stock. I apologize on their behalf for the additional inconvenience, but if you prefer the correct hat cover size, please complete this form by Monday, Nov. 24th.

We will find a way to pack these all in our allotted luggage to avoid mailing anything to you over the holidays.  Thank you for your continued patience.

London Group Airline Tickets

Dear London Participants,

Please be so kind as to double check your most recently sent airline passenger name lists to ensure that all names are exactly correct as per passports. (The attachment is via email that I just sent.)

 

Once airline tickets have been issued, no changes are permitted.

The deadline for any name corrections is Tues. Nov. 11th @ 11a.m. CST.  Reply directly to neffy@att.net only if you need a name correction.

November London Update

Final Payment:

We apologize for the delay as the final invoice arrived late on Halloween. Your new payment deadline is Thursday, Nov. 6th at 11:59 CST. Below are the items in which you are paying for:

New Land Total package price $3,092.83

Uniform and Administration Fees~ $143.74 

Jr. Suite Upgrade $540

Single Room Supplement $80

Late Fees $10 each month

One time Credit Card/Check processing fee $25

Flight Deviations $200-$250 extra/person

Some or all these fees may have been applied to your account based on your selection(s).

Please note: The online payment receipt has tax deductible wording that applies only to scholarship donations.  The scholarship donations go to the Longhorn Alumni Band Charitable Fund, Inc., a 501(c)3 charitable organization.

The London trip is being handled by the Longhorn Alumni Band, Inc. which is a 501(c)7 social organization.  Funds paid to LHAB for the trip are NOT tax deductible.

To reiterate, please submit your payment by Thursday, Nov. 6th at 11:59 CST. If you have any questions and/or believe that there has been a mistake, please email hewright@yahoo.com with ALL receipts attached to the email ASAP.

If you're entitled to a refund for overpayment, we will try our best to mail you a check before Thanksgiving. Thank you for being so patient!

Rehearsals-correction 11/5/14

Paula Crider has to adjudicate bands while in London. Mandatory rehearsal on Dec. 29th is now from 4:00-5:00p.m with a short meeting afterwards from 5:00-5:30pm. Dec. 30th's rehearsal will now begin at 9:00 a.m. We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused.
 

Shipping Instruments

If you need to hold onto your instrument until Dec., please contact us to arrange a time for drop off prior to packing the carnet on Dec. 13th. We need volunteers to help us pack instruments into boxes on Dec. 13th at the storage unit in Austin, TX at 10:30 a.m.

Some of you will receive an email confirming your shipping option this week. Please respond ASAP because I have to submit the final list by Friday to London. It must be exact and anyone failing to drop off an instrument will cause our entire instrument carnet to be voided and sadly, we won't have any instruments for the parade. It's imperative that if you commit to shipping your instrument with us that it's here on time.
 

Uniforms

All uniforms have been distributed. We still have some jackets in YL, S, XL, 2XL, 3XL if you like to exchange yours or purchase an additional one for someone on the trip. Please contact me by Nov. 6th to do so.

Concert Tickets

Some of you have asked how to obtain concert tickets for the bands that are performing. Well, once London has posted the schedule online, I'll be able to tell you more. From the powers that be, we should be able to get enough tickets if anyone wants to see a show. Transportation will be at your own expense.

The Official 2015 LNYDP Merchandise is now available to order online, via the Shop at www.LNYDP.com More importantly however, is that the ‘Participant Discount Code’ is activated and is ready to go!
