Reminders for Band Day 2019

Reminders for Band Day 2019

Good morning LHAB,

If you are planning to attend Band Day this weekend but have not registered yet, please use this link to do so by 5:00pm today! This is the deadline to register if you would like to have a guaranteed marching spot.  Below are a few others reminders as you prepare for the weekend.

GUEST TICKETS

We are sold out of guest football tickets.  The online ticket ordering deadline was on September 30.  Should there be any cancellations, we will fulfill requests on a first come first serve basis.  However, we hope this hasn't discouraged you from registering and attending Band Day this year.  Anyone who ordered tickets in waiting and paid in advance, if unable to be fulfilled, you will receive a refund on the ticket purchases.

LHAB UNIFORM

Please remember that the official uniform for LHAB includes the following:
1. Solid black socks and solid black shoes (tennis shoes are fine as long as they are completely black)
2. Solid black pants (slacks preferred)
3. White collared shirt (either long-sleeved or short-sleeved depending on the weather and your comfort)

White collared polo shirts will be available to first-year members of LHAB free of charge. Others may purchase for a small fee.  Stop by the LHAB Swag sales on Friday night (5-7pm and 8:30-9:30pm) or Saturday (8-9am and 1-3pm) in the Music Building Hallway to pick yours up.

All LHAB members will be provided with a burnt orange vest at Band Day. You must be in full uniform to check one out (black shoes/socks/pants and white collared shirt). Please remember to return your vest before you leave campus.

If you are making plans to attend the Sunday memorial service for Moton Crockett, Jr., you are allowed to keep your LHAB vest checked out until after the service.  Please turn in your vest on Sunday after the reception.  You will be asked to note this on the uniform check-out form and will be responsible for returning the vest on Sunday.  We're requesting those who wish to participate in the joint Eye's rendition with LHB to wear the LHAB uniform of black pants/white shirt.  But it won't prevent anyone from joining.  It was a request for solidarity with LHB in their uniforms.  Thank you!

CLEAR BAG POLICY
Please remember that Darrell K Royal - Texas Memorial Stadium has a "Clear Bag Policy" in place that regulates the size and type of bag that may be carried into the stadium.
Bags that are permitted include:
  • Bags that are clear plastic and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12"
  • One-gallon clear plastic freezer bags
  • Small clutch bags or purses do not have to be clear but cannot exceed 4.5" x 6.5"
Bags not permitted include:
  • Backpacks, printed pattern plastic bags, fanny packs, purses, reusable grocery totes, mesh or straw bags, duffle bags, large totes, camera or binocular cases.
  • Diaper bags are not allowed. Items normally carried in a diaper bag must be put into a clear plastic bag for venue entry.
Additionally, common items not permitted are video cameras, professional detachable lens cameras, electronic equipment cases, strollers, tripods, umbrellas, or artificial noisemakers. For more information, visit https://texassports.com/news/2017/4/13/clear-bag-policy.aspx .

FAMILY AND CHILD GUEST POLICY
If you are bringing family members to Band Day, please remember that LHAB must adhere to the following due to liability issues and UT Athletics policy:
  • Children are not allowed on the field in the Bubble during rehearsal or at any time in the stadium.  During rehearsals, children should be supervised by an adult or guardian on the sidelines or in the endzone and away from rehearsal as to not interrupt activities.
  • Children are not allowed in the band formation while marching to the stadium or returning to the Band Hall.
Thank you so much for understanding and adhering to these policies.

BRASS MOUTHPIECES

Special note for Tubas/Sousaphone players: please bring your own mouthpieces! We want to make sure that you have a great playing experience. Horns/mello players are encouraged to bring your own mouthpieces as well.

Looking forward to seeing y'all this weekend!
Hook ‘Em,
LHAB
