London Uniforms Distribution

Originally we proposed of shipping the uniforms one way with our consignment. Due to unforeseen complicated circumstances, this will NOT be possible. You or your designated friend, member of the family, another trusted traveler, etc… may retrieve it beforehand. Therefore, these are the following opportunities for obtaining your uniform.

1. Pick it up Saturday, October 4, 2014 prior to kickoff at the Band Hall. Time will be determined and posted in October.
2. Pick it up Friday, October 17, 2014 from 5-9 p.m. in Austin at the business meeting. Sorry, we can't hand them out Saturday as we will be handling Band Day logistics. 
3. Pick it up Sunday, October 19, 2014 from my condo in Round Rock by appointment only. 
4. Anything not picked up will be mailed at your additional expense to the address given to us via your London registration. Special consideration will only be given to those not living within the U.S. as determined by the LHAB president. 

 A gentle reminder: You must be in the approved uniform to participate in the parade.

• Solid black socks & shoes
• White Stetson or Santa Hat (Tubas)
• Black Gloves (optional)

 

Park Plaza Victoria Hotel & Roomate Request

If you're filling out the roommate request, please read below regarding the hotel options. This is excludes Option 3ers.

Bedroom Types: All the bedrooms will be twins (2 single beds) and double (1 bed). A few triple rooms (3 persons) will be available upon request. Anyone requesting a double room to themselves will be required to pay a single supplement of approximately $500 extra.  Junior suites are available for an additional cost of approximately $90/night.

Bedroom Facilities:

• All rooms have private bath and shower.
• All have direct dial telephone. Initially you will be barred for all outside calls.
• All have televisions with cable channels. Pay per view is available. Initially you will be barred.

• Free WiFi access throughout the hotel and in the bedrooms.

August London Update

Dear London Participants,

The site visit was extremely informative and exciting. What a wonderful opportunity afforded to us and we're appreciative of Destination Events' generosity. Here's LHAB's London Itinerary 2015. Pay special attention to rehearsals. There is plenty of time for sightseeing and activities at your leisure. Please note some things are subject to change as finalized by the London organizers in the upcoming months. 

**Traveler's tip: Lots of stairs around London with lifts that sporadically work. Practice climbing stairs and walking with a good pair of shoes. If you suffer from knee, hip, or other injuries, it's suggested to bring some pain relievers**

We hope you'll join us for our last live blog regarding London on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 from 8-9p.m. CST. This will be your opportunity to ask any lingering questions that pertain to the whole group. Individual questions regarding accounts should be emailed separately as this will be posted on the lhab site.

Final Payment

When you pay by Friday, August 15, 2014 @ 11:59pm CST your account should have 8 deposits worth of monies. Failure to do so, will result in your name(s) being cancelled from the trip. 

Your final payment will include plus or minus any variation in airline, airport & government taxes, fee charges, surcharges or currency exchange plus any further payments due for selected extras and the LHAB uniform and shipping if applicable. The new final payment date is Oct. 24, 2014. You will receive an email from our personal accounts with the amount you owe after Band Day weekend. Afterwards, you'll go to Pay October's Final Payment Now.

London Travel Update: Options 2 & 3

If you're booking your own airline travel for London with Option 2 or 3:

Depart: Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014 (usually an overnight flight)

Arrive: Monday, Dec. 29, 2014 by 3:00 p.m. Mandatory playing rehearsal that evening.

Return: Sunday, Jan 4, 2015 (Checkout of the hotel if you're Option 2).

London Hotel Update: A Look Inside!

Hi everyone!

The site visit is splendid! Gorgeous summer weather. Here's my suite at the Park Plaza Victoria, London. This is an example of an upgraded room for an additional price. There's free WiFi in the rooms with an American outlet. I didn't even need my converter here.

I've eaten twice at Pret a Manager for lunch with our vouchers. Think of it as Whole Foods: all natural, no preservatives, no additives- fresh, quality ingredients and most importantly- delicious!
